This is me at the Illawarra Hawks NBL25 Championships - Where I've worked in Broadcast for 3 years.

I'm late again now to even keeping up with my once a year March update. Whoops.

Adult life is busy - and I seriously don't know where time goes. And that's coming from a single, kid-less, freelancer, who runs her own hours and clock and life.

I was just jumping on here to upload some new film media for a Wollongong film premiere I'm hosting tomorrow night at the Gala Cinemas for Carmen & Bolude, and noticed that it's time for a March annual update.

Life has been good. I've moved into my own little studio apartment in North Wollongong to kick off this year and that's already felt life changing. It's so nice to have your own space. I have my candle and diffuser going now (despite being told by the David Jones worker upon purchase that these two things in a closed office room for too long could be carcinogeous...), I am doing some life admin ahead of a pitch to a writing agent in a few hours, I have four books lined up for me to read today and my main question is whether I read them lying on my bed (cosy, comfy), or I walk across to the beach to read them (boujee, nature).

I wrapped on a huge Broadcast job with the Illawarra Hawks on Sunday, where they won the NBL championships after 24 years. It was a special night. Very inclusive. A great moment, with commentators, and NEP crew, and players, who made it feel like a family event. I'm so proud to be from the gong atm (a rare occurence).

I recently directed a Destination Wollongong campaign, which should be out soon, and which is HILARIOUS. I also recently cast a Nikolovski Lawyers TVC, which should also be out soon. Both freelance jobs were new to me, but a great challenge that I'm proud of for doing and accepting.

Similar to moving out into this studio apartment. All of this is new to me. Hooking up my own internet, electricity. Sourcing my own groceries non-stop and furniture. Tho I will keep it real and admit that I haven't cooked once and it has been 3 months. I simply buy ready-made meals, or get family to freeze me meals. I don't have time to cook, thank u.

So, that's an update on this year so far. 2024 was also so special. I travelled a lot. Lived in London for a few months and travelled around to the Paris Olympics, Edinburgh Fringe Festival, and the Afronation festival for my birthday (which I will be going to again this year). It felt huge career wise last year as I focused on writing. Then as the new year approached, I spent December 26 - 31 sitting with myself, in my old house, just thinking and re-focusing on my goals for this new year. I made a vision board, and I put this exact studio apartment on it. I studio apartment I'd already been told I wasn't going to get/it was too competitive. Then two weeks into 2025, I got the call that it was mine if I still wanted it. There's plenty more on my vision board, and most of my New Years Resolutions have already come true as well, so... stay tuned.

I'll aim to do a mid year check in. By then I'll hopefully be approved for a Youth Mobility Visa and living in London. (With a writing agent!). xxx
